My full story

Some founders stumble into this. I walked straight in.

Eighteen years ago, long before algae became the darling of luxury beauty, I was already deep in the science. Not because I had a lab accident like the physicist who invented La Mer. Not because a celebrity handed me a check. Because I had a simple, stubborn belief: that a bar of soap — something you use every single day — should do more than clean you. It should transform you.

So I started studying. Not trends. Not marketing. The actual biology of skin — what feeds it, what depletes it, what the ocean has been offering for billions of years that most of us have never thought to use.

What I found changed everything.

The sea produces three distinct families of algae, and the luxury skincare world has known for decades that each one does something remarkable. Green algae — rich in chlorophyll, amino acids, and antioxidants — rebuilds the collagen and elastin framework that keeps skin firm, detoxifying at a cellular level while shielding against the environmental damage that ages you. Blue algae, known as spirulina, is the same superfood found in $200 facial serums: it boosts collagen production, neutralizes free radicals, calms inflammation, and leaves skin visibly plumper with every use. Brown algae — kelp — acts like nature's own hyaluronic acid, forming a moisture-locking barrier, stimulating elastin, and protecting the collagen you already have from breaking down.

La Mer built a global empire on one of these three. I put all three in your soap.

For 18 years, while the beauty industry was busy selling you serums, eye creams, and $350 jars of moisturizer, I was quietly perfecting a bar of soap that works at that same level — organically, purely, and every single morning in your shower, where skincare actually begins.

We are still a small boutique shop. We still make every bar with intention.

Welcome to Ogleby Sisters. You've found your last soap.
